Although NHS retired, George still practices privately and his commitment to Academia has greatly increased to almost full-time. A founder member of the Maltese College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Malta, he has also sat on innumerable important boards, including the Malta Medical Council, the Chair of the RCOG overseas committee of Malta, the European Boards of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and numerous others. He also serves as Court expert and he is also a medical expert for the Catholic Church’s Tribunal for annulment in Malta, where he also lectures. In addition to his clinical and academic OBGYN work, George is now also very active in medico-legal affairs. Besides being an editorial member of numerous medical journals, George is extremely well published. He firmly believes that in addition to its venerable and inevitable role jurisprudential role, medico-legal medicine should also assume a new role as an academic tool in both under- and post-graduate studies in all medical and surgical disciplines. Dr.Rajendra D Badgaiyan, MD,is a psychiatrist and cognitive neuroscientist. He is Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Richmond University Medical Center, and Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinaiin New York. He received formal training in psychiatry, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, molecular imaging and neuroimaging. He was awarded the prestigious BK Anand National Research Prize in India and Solomon Award of Harvard Medical School. His research is focused on the study of neural and neurochemical mechanisms that control human brain functions. He developed the single scan dynamic molecular imagingtechnique (SDMIT) to detect, map, and measure neurotransmitters released acutely in the human brain during task performance. This technique is now used in laboratories all over the world. Using this technique, he studies dopaminergic control of human cognition and behavior. He is also interested in learning the nature of dysregulated dopamine neurotransmission in psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions.
