Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common bone malignancy in children and adolescents. Despite the efficacy of multiscientific and
multimodal therapies for OS, the prognosis of OS is not satisfactory, which highlights the need to find more effective therapies. The
NF-κB pathway is a highly complex and unique intracellular signaling pathway, whose abnormal expression has been implicated in
a variety of human diseases, including cancer, spinal cord injury, degenerative disc changes, traumatic brain injury, and tuberculosis.
NF-κB pathway is considered to be a common signaling pathway in human cancer. Multiple studies have shown that this pathway
is often abnormally expressed in OS and regulates the pathophysiological processes of osteosarcoma, such as gene expression, cell
proliferation and apoptosis, invasion, migration and tumor .....

Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is described as hepatic venous outflow obstruction. The obstruction may occur at the level of intrahepatic Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) or any of the hepatic veins. It may be primarily due to hypercoagulable or pro-thrombotic state or secondary to obstruction of hepatic veins, inferior vena cava or right atrium. Long-standing BCS may cause sinusoidal congestion, ischaemic injury to hepatocytes, fibrosis, cirrhosis and may eventually lead to Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) [1-4]. The clinical presentation of the patient varies from mild symptoms to acute fulminant hepatic failure, with the majority of patients presenting in the chronic stage [5,6]. The severity of presentation depends on the degree of venous obstruction and formation of veno-venous collaterals [7]. Both BCS and HCC are usually diagnosed by a combinati.....

Polysplenia can be isolated or associated with other congenital malformations that are part of the polysplenia syndrome. Polysplenia syndrome is a rare congenital disease characterized by the presence of two or more spleens (Figure 1) and affection of other asymmetric organs It is more commonly identified in childhood than in maturity. It’s an uncommon heterotaxy condition that affects one out of every 250 000 live births. Several studies have attempted to categorize the wide range of abnormalities into asplenia and polysplenia. Polysplenia has an underlying etiology that is unknown. it has been linked to a variety of causes, including embryonic, genetic, and teratogenic components [1,2]. It is characterized by an abnormal arrangement of thoracic and abdominal organs. The variable involvement of these different organs results in a clini.....

Machine Learning (ML) is a common Artificial Intelligence (AI) method. The use of ML offers the opportunity to develop better data mining techniques in order to analyse complex clinical interactions with a large number of variables. ML models should provide “real-time” clinical support reducing clinical risk to patients with model-agnostic interpretation to deduce a more specific clinical decision. Whilst ML algorithms have been used as the relatively “new kid on the block” in healthcare practice, they have shown promising results in predicting disease outcomes or risks in a variety of diseases such as depressive disorder, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, postoperative complications and cardiovascular diseases. However, patients suffering from a chronic condition are likely to have more than one condition requiring simultaneous attention.....

Background: With increasing use and availability of Quetiapine (Q) the number of self-poisonings has increased. The toxic effects of Q may be lethal and an increased knowledge of these poisonings may improve the outcome in these patients.
Methods: Two cases of Q poisoning are presented, one with toxicokinetic data of both Q and NQ, as well as a literature review of Q poisoning. Epidemiological data on Q poisoning in Norway and the frequency of these poisonings in the forensic reports are presented in the supplementary material.
Results: The two cases of severe Q poisoning, of whom one was fatal, illustrated the cardiovascular complications and the convulsions also found in the literature review. The toxicokinetic data indicated a biphasic elimination of Q and a persisting high level of the metabolite N-desalkylquetiapine (NQ) even after.....

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) starts in childhood with symptoms of hyperactivity, impulsivity, and/ or inattention. These symptoms affect cognitive, academic, behavioral, emotional, and social functioning [1]. The reported prevalence of ADHD in children ranges from 2% to 18% depending on the diagnostic criteria used and the population studied (e.g. primary care versus hospital) [1]. The estimated prevalence in school-aged children is 8% to 11%, making it one of the most common disorders of childhood [2]. According to a multicenter meta-analysis of 175 studies involving 1,023,071 individuals, the estimated pooled prevalence of ADHD in adults aged over 36 years was 7.3% (95% CI, 6.7-7.8) [3]. Epidemiological studies of ADHD in the adult population have estimated a current prevalence of 3.4% nationwide and 4.4% in the Unite.....

For every epidemic, the public and decision-makers worry that the number of infected people will be far more than the healthcare system can afford, thus it is important to predict the cases which need medical services. This is similar to cases of natural disasters such as floods when a devastating outcome occurs with incoming and outgoing water volume being higher than a river’s storage capacity. The similarities between floods and epidemics inspire a modified rainfall-runoff model, I&α. This novel model focuses on the prediction of active cases, i.e., y0, which measures the number of people who need medical services. This model is based on the past data for the prediction of future epidemic trends. This model can effectively predict the maximum y0 and its peak date when applied to model COVID-19, with an average error of 3.8% and 2.7 .....

In this paper, we examined the possibility of using high performance thin layer chromatography for the qualitative and quantitative determination of Centralites 1 (1,3-diethyl-1,3-diphenylurea) and 2 (1,3 dimethyl-1,3-diphenylurea). For this purpose,we developed new method in which we find an appropriate mixture of carrier solution, as a key factor in the development of the method, using a mixture of toluene, acetone and cyclohexane. We confirmed in the experiment that mixtures of 9 vol. toluene and 1 vol. acetone for Centralites 1 or 2, and 4 vol. toluene and 6 vol. cyclohexane for diphenylamine stabilizer, are appropriate. Experiments have shown that this method can be used in the testing of propellants, tested on mine caliber of 120 mm. The results of the experiment are proved by high performance liquid chromatography method. The resul.....
