Bharat Bhushan is an Ohio Eminent Scholar and the Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He came to OSU in 1991 after a 15-year career in industry, working primarily for IBM Almaden Research Center. A professor with diverse interests, his works in biomimetic interface science, surface engineering, nanotribology, and materials research. He spent the 2013-2014 year working as an ASME Science Fellow in Congress. His work there focused on policy and funding of various scientific government agencies, setting science and engineering goals for the country, and STEM education. He is a prolific author (h-index – 76+; ISI Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science since 2007 and in Biology and Biochemistry since 2013; ISI Top 5% Cited Authors for Journals in Chemistry since 2011), influencing many different fields. He has authored 8 scientific books, 90+ handbook chapters, nearly 900 scientific papers, and 60+ scientific reports. He has also edited 50+ books and holds 20 U.S. and foreign patents.

His career started at West Virginia University and continued at Merck & Co. as well as New York University in the U.S, prior to his return to Greece. Mihail Lucian Birsa is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania. Jan Olof G. Karlsson has a PhD in pharmacology from Linköping University, Sweden, where he also holds a position as an assistant professor. Between 1990 and 1992 he held a position as a research fellow at the Swedish Medical Research Council. Thereafter he was offered a position as a senior research scientist at Nycomed Imaging AS in Oslo (which later became GE Healthcare), where he stayed until 2007.Karlsson is one of the founders of PledPharma AB, where he worked between 2007 and 2014. This company is developing MnPLED-derivatives as new medicinal products intended for treatment of serious diseases, such as cancer and acetaminophen intoxication. He has successfully supervised three PhD students and number of students during their Master works. Karlsson has published 76 scientific papers and is inventor of 9 issued patent families including the new chemical entity calmangafodipir (PledOx®).

Michael Adikwu is presently working as a Vice Chancellor in University of Nigeria. His graduation done from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nigeria in 1986. He worked as a hospital pharmacist upon graduation from 1986-1990. In 1990, he joined the services of the University of Nigeria and rose to the rank of Professor in 1998. Currently he has over a 220 hundred articles in both national and international journals. 1n 2007 he was appointed the National Coordinator of a project aimed at improving post-basic and higher education system in Nigeria through the World Bank IDA system. The project called STEP-B was completed in 2013. He has visited overseas laboratory twice as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow in Germany and a Matsumae Fellow in Japan. In the area of international grants, he has won a research grants from the Royal Society of Chemistry of Great Britain (2002), Third World Academy of Sciences (2004) and the International Foundation for Science (2004). He was also a recipient of the Royal Society of Great Britain short term research fellowship to the University of Manchester (2006). Three of his students are full professors of Pharmacy. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, an Honorary Fellow of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria, an Honorary Fellow of the Entomological Society of Nigeria, a Member of the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria. He has won the Nigerian Prize for Science (2006) and the May and Baker Prize for Excellence in the Practice of Pharmacy (2009).
