When exposed to climate changes, dairy cows end up having several physiological changes influenced by environmental factors (radiation, temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed) and by means of thermoregulation (conduction, convection, and evaporation). These changes are visible in various organs and cells, but oocytes and embryos are more vulnerable to thermal stress, in this case, caused by high temperatures and humidity, which may even reduce fertility rates. Changes in climate can also directly affect the duration and regularity of the estrous cycle and the spread of diseases and infections that negatively affect animals, not least directly affecting the availability of forages and grains. Under these conditions, the Zebu breeds are predominant because they have greater resistance to heat. Understanding the problems caused..... ReadMore -

Cottonseed cake contains a toxic substance gossypol. Presently cottonseed cake is widely used as a rich protein supplement to feed livestock extensively by ignoring toxicity risk. The current study is planned to observe toxic effect of feeding cottonseed cake on hematological, biochemical and histological changes in liver and testes in male rabbits. Administration of different levels of cotton seed cake (0%,10%,15%) for eight weeks induced non- significant changes in red blood cell, count (RBCs), white blood cell count (WBCs), hemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV and platelet count (Plt). Likewise, serum transaminases alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and , aspartate aminotransferase(AST) have shown non-significant changes but serum testosterone was significantly decreased., Histopathology of liver and testes revealed non- significa..... For this study, 441 racial groups were used, using the following crosses: 7/8 Holstein X 1/8 Guzerat (n= 112), 7/8 American Swiss x 1/8 Guzerat (n=138) and 7/8 dairy Simmental X 1/8 Guzerat (n=191), from three dual-purpose farms in northern Puebla; Mexico. With the objective of evaluating milk production per lactation (PTL), period of initiation of lactation (EIL), days to peak lactation (PL),..... ReadMore -

Based on the results of the analysis of production data on the survival rate in the population of Black-and-White cows, it was found that the average Productive Life Span (PLS) significantly depends on the value of the relative retirement during first lactation (P<0.001), i.e., this parameter can be used as a predictor of PLS in representative samples......
