Zinc acts in the body by catalysing various enzyme activities, regulates gene expression, and supports in protein structures. This study analysed the impact of the Trivedi Effect®-Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment on the various properties of zinc in comparison to the control sample by using different analytical techniques. The sample for the study was divided into two parts and named as the control and treated parts. The control part did not receive the Biofield Energy Treatment was given to, while the treated part was received the Trivedi Effect®-Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment by a renowned Biofield Energy Healer, Dahryn Trivedi, remotely. The powder X-ray diffraction peak intensities of the treated zinc powder and crystallite sizes were significantly altered ranging from -15.06% to 24.92% and -1.01% to 28.32%, respectively compared to the control sample. Moreover, the average crystallite size of the treated zinc powder was significantly increased by 13.60% in comparison to the control sample. The particle sizes of the treated zinc powder sample was decreased by 4.52% (d10), 8.82% (d50), 12.87% (d90), and 10.47% [D(4,3)] after the Biofield Energy Treatment; that resulted in 8.16% increase in the surface area as compared to the control sample. The total weight loss was significantly increased in the treated sample by 23.88%, however, the residue amount was significantly reduced by 24.69%, compared to the control sample. Therefore, the Trivedi Effect®-Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment might be used as a novel approach for producing a novel polymorph of zinc, which might show better solubility, absorption, and bioavailability along with altered thermal stability, compared to the control sample. Overall, the Biofield Energy Treated zinc could be more advantageous to make the products in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, chemical, metal industry, etc.

Zinc is considered a trace element that is the second most abundantly distributed in the body after iron. It acts in the body by catalysing various enzyme activities, regulates gene expression, and supports in protein structures [1]. It also acts as a co-factor for proteases and polymerases and therefore plays an important role in various cellular functions such as intestinal epithelial cell regeneration [2] and wound repair [3], etc. Similarly, it also acts as a cofactor for thymulin, which is essential for the maturation of T-cell [4]. Zinc has antioxidant properties and therefore, might be used to protect against macular degeneration arising from oxidative stress [5]. Since zinc could not be stored in excess amount in the human body, it must be consumed as part of the diet. The various food resources containing zinc are, poultry, beef, seafood, and grains, etc. [6]. The deficiency of zinc may cause short stature, impaired function of testes and ovaries, and reduced ability to taste the food. Besides, it is also used in improving growth and heath in infants and children, enhancing the immune system, and in the treatment of common cold, flu, recurrent ear infections, bladder infections, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, swine flu, and severe head injuries [7]. The use of zinc has also been evident in the treatment of night blindness, cataract, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes and associated nerve damage, AIDS/HIV and related pregnancy complications and diarrhoea, AIDS-related infections, and hyperbilirubinemia [8-10]. The other uses involved the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, anorexia nervosa, dry mouth, postpartum depression, dementia, attention deficithyperactivity disorder (ADHD), hepatic encephalopathy, blunted sense of taste (hypogeusia), Crohn’s disease, alcohol-related liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, stomach and leg ulcers, canker sores, and bed sores [11,12]. Besides, it is also used for osteoporosis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ovarian cysts, warts, sickle cell disease, itching, acne, hair loss, psoriasis, eczema, thalassemia, Alzheimer’s disease, Hansen’s disease, Down syndrome, and cystic fibrosis, etc. [13,14]. Moreover, the use of zinc has also been evident in the prevention of cancer and their recurrences such as cancers of oesophagus, stomach, colon and rectal, brain, nasal and throat, head, neck cancer, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The other uses involve prevention from chemotherapy-related complications, inflammation in the digestive tract lining, pregnancy-related complications, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), etc. [15-18]. Zinc has many applications in the metal industries, i.e., alloys, anti-corrosion agent, batteries, catalyst in the chemical reaction, etc. [19].
The physicochemical properties of a drug play main role in its ADME profile and thus, recent studies involve improving the solubility and absorption parameters of the drug by altering such properties. The Trivedi Effect® (Biofield Energy Healing Treatment) has been known these days for its considerable impact on the physicochemical and thermal properties of compounds [19-22]. It is a unique energy, i.e., infinite and para-dimensional electromagnetic field, which is possessed by the living organisms surrounding their body and considered as the Biofield Energy. This energy (Putative Energy Fields) is also used in the form of healing therapies under the category of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and is recommended by the National Institutes of Health/National Centre for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NIH/NCCAM) due to their beneficial effect against various disease conditions in the U.S. population [23,24]. The Trivedi Effect® is a phenomenon in which, a person can harness the inherently intelligent energy and transmit it anywhere on the globe via the possible mediation of neutrinos [19,25]. Various scientific studies reported the astounding ability of the Trivedi Effect®-Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment for changing the characteristics of the non-living materials and living object(s). The impact of the Biofield Energy Treatment has been reported on the physicochemical and thermal properties of metals and ceramic [26,27], organic compounds [28,29], and nutraceuticals/pharmaceuticals [30-33]. The studies also reported its unique effect in the field of microbiology [34-36], biotechnology [37], health [38], agriculture [39,40], and livestock [41]. Hence, this study was aimed to determine the impact of the Trivedi Effect® on the physicochemical and thermal properties of zinc with the help of various analytical techniques
The test sample zinc powder was procured from Sigma Aldrich (USA) and the other chemicals used during the experiments were purchased in India.
The zinc test sample was divided into two parts. One part was considered as a control sample (no Biofield Energy Treatment was provided). Consequently, the second part of zinc was treated with the Trivedi Effect®-Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment remotely under standard laboratory conditions for 3 minutes and known as the Biofield Energy Treated zinc sample. This Energy Treatment was provided through the healer’s unique energy communication process by the famous Biofield Energy Healer, Dahryn Trivedi, USA. Further, the control sample was treated with a “sham” healer who did not have any knowledge about the Biofield Energy Treatment. After that, both the samples were kept in sealed conditions and characterized using modern analytical techniques.
The X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis of zinc metal powder sample was performed with the help of Rigaku MiniFlex-II Desktop X-ray diffractometer (Japan) [42,43]. The average size of crystallites was calculated from PXRD data using the Scherrer’s formula (1)
Where G is the crystallite size in nm, k is the equipment constant, λ is the radiation wavelength, β is the full width at half maximum, and θ is the Bragg angle [44].
The particle size distribution (PSD) analysis was performed taking Malvern Mastersizer 2000, from the UK using the wet method. Similarly, the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) thermograms of zinc metal powder were obtained with the help of TGA Q50 TA instruments [45,46]. The % change in PXRD peak intensity, crystallite size, particle size, specific surface area, weight loss and the maximum thermal degradation temperature of the Biofield Energy Treated zinc metal powder was calculated compared with the control sample using the following equation 2:
There was the presence of high intensity and narrow base width PXRD peaks in the diffractograms of the control and the treated sample of zinc that denoted the basic properties of crystalline materials. However, the treated sample showed some alterations in the intensities of the peaks in comparison to the peaks of the control sample, which indicated some changes in the crystalline structure of the treated zinc sample after the Biofield energy Treatment. Thus, the peak intensities and crystallite sizes of the treated sample were altered ranging from -15.06% to 24.92% and -1.01% to 28.32%, respectively, compared to the control sample. Besides, the treated sample also showed a significant change in the average crystallite size (729.67nm), which was increased by 13.60% as compared to the control sample (642.33nm). Any changes in the peak intensity along the diffraction face in the crystalline compounds may indicate the alterations in the crystal morphology [47]. Besides, the changes in the complete PXRD pattern may suggest the polymorphic transitions that may take place during the process [48,49]. Hence, the significant changes in the PXRD pattern of the treated sample such as Bragg’s angles, peak intensities, and crystallite sizes might suggest the possibility of alteration in the crystal morphology and polymorphic transitions after the Biofield Energy Treatment. Moreover, the altered polymorphic form of a drug might affect drug performance such as the bioavailability, efficacy, and toxicity [50,51]. Hence, the Trivedi Effect® Treated zinc sample might show a better therapeutic response as compared to the control sample. This treated zinc powder may be beneficial for the metal industry application point of view.
The impact of Biofield Energy Treatment on the particle size distribution of zinc was analysed (Table 1 & 2) by using the particle size analysis technique. The analysis revealed that the particle size values of the treated sample at d10, d50, d90, and D(4,3) were significantly decreased by 4.52%, 8.82%, 12.87%, and 10.47%, respectively in comparison to the control sample. The resultant specific surface area of the treated zinc sample was observed to be increased by 8.16%, compared to the control sample. The reduced particle size of the treated sample might be attributed to the Biofield Energy Healing Treatment that might act as an external force on the particles of zinc sample and break them in smaller ones [52]. Besides, the decreased particle size and improved surface area help in improving the solubility, absorption, and bioavailability of the drug in the body [53]. Hence, it could be presumed that the treated sample might show improved solubility and bioavailability profile after the Biofield Energy Treatment as compared to the control sample.
The TGA analysis helps in establishing the thermal degradation profile of the samples by analysing the thermograms (Figure 1 & 2). The results indicated a significant increase in the total weight loss of the treated sample due to thermal heating by 23.88%, compared to the control sample (Table 3). Besides, the resulted residue amount of the treated sample was decreased by 24.69% in comparison to the control sample. Thus, the TGA analysis indicated the increased thermal degradation of the treated sample after the Biofield Energy Treatment as compared to the control sample. The DTG thermogram is considered as the first derivative of the weight loss curve, which helps in determining the temperature points of the most apparent weight losses [54]. This study showed single peaks in the DTG thermograms of the control and treated zinc samples (Figure 3). Besides, the Tmax for the treated sample was observed at 611.08 °C (Table 3), which was decreased by 1.22% (~7.5 °C) as compared to the Tmax of the control sample (618.62 °C). Overall, the TGA/DTG study showed the increased thermal degradation of the treated sample as compared with the control sample.
The determined the impact of the Trivedi Effect®-Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment on physicochemical and thermal properties of zinc in comparison to the untreated sample. The powder X-ray diffraction peak intensities of the Biofield Energy Treated zinc powder and crystallite sizes were significantly altered ranging from -15.06% to 24.92% and -1.01% to 28.32%, respectively compared to the control sample. Moreover, the average crystallite size of the Biofield Energy Treated zinc powder was significantly increased by 13.60% in comparison to the control sample. The particle sizes of the Biofield Energy Treated zinc powder sample was decreased by 4.52% (d10), 8.82% (d50), 12.87% (d90), and 10.47% [D(4,3)] after the Biofield Energy Treatment; that resulted in 8.16% increase in the surface area as compared to the control sample. The total weight loss, determined through the TGA study was significantly increased in the Biofield Energy Treated sample by 23.88%, however, the residue amount was significantly reduced by 24.69%, compared to the control sample. Thus, the overall study concluded the possible formation of a new polymorph of zinc after treating with the Trivedi Effect®- Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment, which might show better solubility, absorption, and bioavailability as well as altered thermal stability as compared to the control sample. Hence, the Trivedi Effect® Treated zinc containing formulations might prove to be more beneficial in the treatment and prevention of common cold, flu, recurrent ear infections, bladder infections, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, night blindness, cataract, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, and associated nerve damage, AIDS/HIV and related pregnancy complications and diarrhoea, AIDS-related infections, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anorexia nervosa, dry mouth, postpartum depression, dementia, attention deficithyperactivity disorder (ADHD), hepatic encephalopathy, blunted sense of taste (hypogeusia), Crohn’s disease, alcohol-related liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, stomach and leg ulcers, osteoporosis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ovarian cysts, warts, sickle cell disease, itching, acne, hair loss, psoriasis, eczema, thalassemia, Alzheimer’s disease, Hansen’s disease, Down syndrome, and cystic fibrosis, etc. Biofield Energy Treated zinc could be more advantageous in the chemical, metal industry, etc. also.
